Brief Internship Description:
As a Probe Software Intern at Micron Technology, Inc. in Manassas, VA, you will assist in the development and documentation of information and automation systems using traditional client/server, Web-based, middle-layer, and ad-hoc application development tools in a strong team environment. You will establish and maintain effective relationships with customers, peers, and corporate software developersproject managers. You will communicate timely status to the customer and lead.
Full Internship Description:
Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to the following:

- Collecting requirements and analyzing data (as required) to support automation and customer teams.
- Defining and making suggestions that improve engineering and process issues.
- Learning new tools in the effort to maintain, troubleshoot, enhance, and support existing software.
- Testing and development releasing of new software.
- Develop training material and documentation of new software.
- Presenting data to various groups and levels of management.

Successful candidates for this position should have:

- Strong database design and implementation.
- Proven problem solving abilities.
- Proven strong software testing experience using academic frameworks.
- Good communication and leadership skills.
- The ability to work and thrive in a team environment with minimal supervision.
- Goal oriented, can-do attitude.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, technical direction, and vision.
- Previous internship or work related experience.

Hands-on knowledge in several of the following areas will provide “Best-fit” for this internship:

- XML, HTML, SOAP/RESTful frameworks,
- MSSQLPL-SQL
- Perl, PHP, Unix Shell scripting.
- Linux/Unix developer environments
- SVN and Version Control best practices.
- Software QA, Automation and Design Patterns.
- Documentation with UML and E/R diagrams.

Education:

Candidate should be attending to his/her Senior year of Undergraduate Major in one of the following education degrees; BS in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or equivalent experience required.
