Some experience with data base management 5. Mechanical aptitude (for designing and building gas sampling systems) 6. Analytical aptitude to identify root causes for problems and to formulate and evaluate possible solutions 7. Ability to work without direct supervision Summary of work to include: Develop and formalize methods for determining the compositions of process exhaust gasses from process pumps and point-of-use abatement devices. Define, obtain, organize and apply specific hardware needed to adapt analysis equipment to exhausts for each type of exhaust design and abatement device. Become proficient in the theory, application, operation, and maintenance of the MKS mass spectrometer equipment. Define procedures for using the mass spec to analyze exhaust gasses and determine scrubber efficiencies. Develop a data base to record specific equipment, set-ups, procedures, and results for exhaust gas analysis. Train engineers and technicians to use the equipment, procedures, and software used to analyze exhaust gasses. In addition to those responsibilities listed above, the intern is responsible to follow stringent safety guidelines at Micron. There are hazard specific certifications that are necessary and procedures that need to be adhered to strictly.
