Full Internship Description:
As a Technician Intern you will be responsible for monitoring, sustaining, and improving the equipment in our state of the art 300mm FAB, while working in partnership with production team members and area engineers. You will monitor tool performance, schedule and perform preventative maintenance on assigned tool sets, and use mechanical, electronic and PC/software skills to troubleshoot and repair equipment issues. You may also assist with equipment installs, create and modify equipment procedures, and increase tool uptime through systematic problem solving and troubleshooting, quality workmanship, thoroughly document all maintenance performed in established check sheets and tracking programs, and routine review of maintenance check sheets and procedures. Technician Interns monitor, analyze and address Statistical Process Control (SPC) issues for area processes on a daily basis and respond to SPC out of control issues. Technician Interns will ensure that the Lead Tech and/or Lead Engineer are updated on tool and area issues.

Qualifications

- Basic to intermediate knowledge of AC/DC circuits, including: fundamentals of electricity, and basic electronic components and circuits
- Basic understanding of mathematical concepts and problem solving at least into an algebraic level
- Basic PC skills including MS Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to troubleshoot basic problems and address root causes
- A strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to use schematic diagrams to troubleshoot electronics down to the board level
- Ability to properly use common hand tools
- Effective time management and prioritization skills
- Ability in multi-tasking complex projects
- Basic data extraction, analysis and reporting skills
- Teamwork skills with a strong focus on effective team dynamics
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Successful Candidate Description

- Basic understanding of physics concepts and principles
- Basic knowledge of test and calibration equipment (O-scopes, DMMs, etc.)
- Basic understanding of SPC principles and proper application
- Basic understanding of semiconductor equipment and processes
- Additional preferences may be defined by the area leadership

Education Requirements

- Current enrollment in an accredited institution pursuing an AAS in Electronics, BS in Electronics Engineering Technology, or equivalent electronic degree or professional certification
