Brief Internship Description:
Under supervision, will obtain on-the-job training and provide technical support for computer hardware, software, peripherals, telephones and voice mail to enterprise-wide employees.
Full Internship Description:
Responds to banking office and/or department requests for assistance and installations. Acts as a general information source to others regarding use of personal computers, related workstation hardware and software programs and equipment, telephone and voicemail; responds to incoming calls from network users as prescribed by Service Level Agreements. Troubleshoots a variety of problems and resolves immediately when possible; refers unsolved problems to appropriate party; monitors problem through ultimate resolution. Installs software on local workstations or servers as directed. Perform additions, changes, corrections, and physical moves of existing personal computers and telephone systems; may coordinate efforts with external vendors; informs appropriate employee of telephone changes; assist with maintenance of voice mail system. Tracks a variety of systems including teller and device definitions, asset tag inventory and others as assigned; establishes and maintains accurate databases for each system. Maintains effective working relationships with a variety of outside vendors and Bank employees. 
Maintains a working understanding of, and complies with, applicable banking regulations, operating procedures and security guidelines.
Qualifications: Knowledge:  A basic understanding of personal computers, hardware, software packages, operating systems and networks as well as knowledge of Windows NT networks and familiarity with current software programs preferred. – through coursework and/or work experience – is preferred; some office experience is preferred. Skills:  Good organizational skills. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and PC skills are required; a level of proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word/PowerPoint and especially Excel) is necessary. Abilities:  Able to communicate effectively with people at all levels; use typical office equipment; able to comprehend concepts and put them into practical application. Education:  A current college student in computer science curriculum or major in computer science preferred; an expressed desire/intent to enter the Information Technology profession desired.
