The Mechanical Engineer Intern will be responsible for various Mechanical Engineering functions within the Martinsville facility. Duties include assisting with the collection, entry, and analysis of data, printing drawings and filing them, material planning, process review, and being exposed to all mechanical equipment to include hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical processes. This position will report to the Mechanical Maintenance Manager.

•	Collects data, drawings, and schematics and enters same into the system.
•	Using existing equipment numbering scheme and then using it to assign equipment numbers to all pieces of plant equipment. (This could be a joint effort with a mechanical and electrical intern.) Labeling would follow.  This would give the interns a good chance to see all the equipment.
•	Create sets of mechanical drawings and schematics for all equipment from electronic (PDFs or ACAD) as well as paper format, making sure that the most up to date version is used.
•	Creating a catalog of maintenance manuals that are available for the equipment.  
•	Working with the Spare Parts inventory spreadsheet, add various parts that are needed, including part number, where used and where to purchase, as instructed, even if the parts are not stocked.  
•	Work with Mechanical Technicians trouble shooting and repairing equipment.
•	Work with operations to develop equipment or building modifications that have been categorize as 'nice to have' and help determine their feasibility and value added.
•	Create a duplicate record of machinery manuals and drawings for a secure location in the plant.
•	Assist in various assigned engineering projects.
•	Will prepare and present to staff a PowerPoint presentation at conclusion of Internship on learning experience during internship at RTI Martinsville.
