Internship Title:Engineer Scholar
Brief Internship Description:
The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is currently searching for students to join our Civil Engineering Scholarship Program. A scholar may work in a capacity related to their knowledge and experience level in areas such as Structure and Bridge, Location and Design, Environmental, Construction Management, and Materials. Scholars are encouraged to work in a different location across the state of Virginia each summer to increase the breadth of their experience and prepare them for a successful engineering career (housing and relocation are not provided).

SEMESTER STIPEND: A $3,500.00 stipend is issued to Scholars at the beginning of Fall and Spring semesters. These funds are not gift-aid and will not conflict with gift-aid scholarships.

AFTER-GRADUATION EMPLOYMENT: Scholars repay their stipends by working for VDOT after graduation; six months for each semester of stipend received. Repayment of stipend is required from Scholar if he/she decides to leave VDOT.
