Job Description We are expanding our software engineering department by seeking “up-and-coming” developers to help tackle the workload that comes with building a revolutionary app! Help us leverage existing monitoring agents (such as VMWare, IBM Tivoli, HP BAC & Openview, CA eHealth & Wily) at the sub-system metric level, evaluate the architecture to identify integration points, and implement adapters using our standard java data collection framework and database integration API. Candidates must be motivated team players with the ability to work in a hands-on, fast-paced and dynamic environment. This is a fantastic opportunity for a person looking to work in a superior software development organization. The candidate is required to work on location in our Reston, VA office. We are located near the Herndon Park & Ride which provides access to public transportation. Candidate should have a combination of many of the following skills: •Good knowledge of software development principles •Hands-on development experience with Java 1.5+ •Database design with SQL, and familiarity with either MS-SQL, MySQL, or Oracle databases. •Ability to work on Apache / Tomcat / JSP / Spring MVC environment. •Proficiency in a least 1 scripting language (e.g. Groovy, Perl, Ruby, Python, Bash). •Proficiency with at least 1 source control tool •Can easily install and configure complex software systems and web servers (e.g. Apache, MySQL, VMware) •Resident knowledge of open source technologies •Ability to develop against a variety of web architectures and services (HTTP, SOAP, REST, XML etc.) Personal Qualifications: The candidate should be prepared to demonstrate the following: •Hands-on development or system admin experience •Ability to learn new technologies and software quickly •Excellent communication skills •Shared examples of your code or projects that you’ve developed (is a huge plus!)
