American National Bank & Trust Company is looking for a skilled college student in the Roanoke Valley interested in pursuing an information technology / cybersecurity internship in the banking industry. This opportunity is designed for an individual interested in getting hands-on experience with technology for a bank that values its employees, customers and communities.

The internship will consist of meaningful technology-based work that is pivotal for the growth and development of our business. The program is designed to provide an opportunity for the intern to apply classroom knowledge in a corporate IT / cybersecurity environment while delivering tangible value to the organization.  Additionally, American National Bank & Trust Company will partner with the Virginia Bankers Association to bring the intern a unique opportunity to network with banking professionals from across the state as well as interns from other banks. Features for the intern include training and development in the banking industry, networking & social opportunities, weekly Zoom meetings throughout the summer to connect with other interns and hear from industry speakers, and collaboration with the VBA Emerging Bank Leaders group for networking and learning opportunities in an effort to engage the intern in the future of the banking industry.  The intern will also have access to the Realworld Playbook, an online, interactive financial education platform that covers a variety of relevant personal finance topics.

Basic Qualifications:
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Technology, Computer Science, MIS, Cybersecurity, or other applicable degree with a STEM-based focus.
• Currently enrolled as a Sophomore, Junior or Senior in an accredited college or university.

Preferred Qualifications:
• 3.0 GPA or higher
