Brief Internship Description:
Software Engineer Intern is a term position for students pursuing technology degrees. This position is focused on developing, creating, and modifying general computer applications software or specialized utility programs. Interns will be expected to understand requirements and develop software solutions with support from senior staff.
Full Internship Description:
Typical Duties/Responsibilities:
•	Analyze and modify existing software to correct errors, allow it to adapt to new hardware, or to improve its performance.
•	Learn how to use newly relevant tools, technologies, languages, as needed, to be utilized within DHWA software systems.
•	Develop new software based on specifications.
•	Develop modular software and services.
•	Develop and conduct software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation.
•	Store, retrieve, and manipulate data for analysis of system capabilities and requirements.
•	Support the demonstration of prototype systems to customers.
•	Perform software system installation and monitor equipment functioning to ensure specifications are met.
•	Perform data analysis and cleaning, if necessary, to support data-driven approaches (e.g., machine learning).
•	Participate in code review and other team-oriented activities, such as meetings and scrums.
•	Incorporate industry trends and best practices in our software design and development frameworks.
•	Support development of briefings and reports.

Required Skills/Abilities: 
•	Programming—Writing computer programs for various purposes.
•	Troubleshooting—Determining causes of software errors and deciding best to fix them.
•	Systems Analysis—Determining how a system should work and how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment will affect outcomes.
•	Systems Evaluation—Identifying measures or indicators of system performance and the actions needed to improve or correct performance, relative to the goals of the system.
•	Mathematics—Using mathematics to solve problems.
