Brief Internship Description:

The intern will analyze data quality issues, present findings and remediation recommendations to stakeholders, and, following approval, assist in implementing metadata remediation workflows.
Full Internship Description:
We are seeking an intern with a strong interest in cultural heritage metadata, authority control, linked data, and applied AI to support the assessment and improvement of legacy collections data. This role will involve researching current and emerging metadata practices and standards, evaluating existing data against established cultural heritage authority files and controlled vocabularies, and helping to recommend appropriate authorities that support cross-functional use across collections, library, and archival systems. The intern will analyze data quality issues, present findings and remediation recommendations to stakeholders, and, following approval, assist in implementing metadata remediation workflows. The position also requires the ability to leverage AI to support data analysis and to help design and develop lightweight software tools, including internal-use applications, that improve operational efficiency and support data stewardship workflows. STEM experience may include academic or practical experience with data, databases, metadata standards, linked data, or other technical and analytical work relevant to cultural heritage information.
