Full Internship Description:
Federal Reserve Information Technology, located in downtown Richmond, is searching for two interns to work in the Network Services department.  This is an exciting opportunity to learn about Federal Reserve Information Technology and one of the many services it provides to the Federal Reserve System.
This paid intern position is open to rising Juniors who are enrolled in a computer science or business curriculum and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.  The interns are expected to work approximately 20 hours per week during the school year, and a regular work week (40 hours) during summer break.    Occasional weekend or evening work may be required.  The interns will also have the opportunity to work during other school breaks (e.g., winter and spring).
In this position, interns will learn the technical aspects of Network Services – network hardware, software and operating systems for routers, switches and other network connected devices.  They will be assigned mentors as they rotate through and help support various network functions.  The interns will have exposure to the day-to-day responsibilities of network design, implementation and management and the development of network solutions to address customer requirements.   
Interested candidates should have a working knowledge of the Microsoft suite of products (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) as well as good oral and written communications skills, analytical ability and basic organizational skills.
